1st generation Girard tankless water heater

Hello all, I have a 2013 TT that had a 1st generation Girard tankless water heater that would not put out hot water very well. I took the time to trouble shoot it this week with the help of the manufacturer over the phone several times. What I found was the heater LP regulator was not putting out enough LP for a good robust flame to heat the water. We were unable to adjust it enough. I believe I will be installing their new upgraded one using a control dial. The original unit was rated max at 27000 BTU. The new one rated max is 36000BTU with more control. I'm giving Girard one more chance. I do wish to be tankless but, my Wife comes first.

Tankless use a lot of energy but only on demand.

Check with a GOOD propane dealer as there are limits on btu delivered due to low delivery pressure and pipe size.

If the pipe is too small you will never get it to work correctly unless you use a dual regulator system where you have a high pressure regulated distribution with low pressure regulator at device.

a good propane dealer who services equipment will be able to check the engineering to see it it could work.

In homes with long line between tank and house the system is built this way...converted ours when tank moved to allow shop to be built.
