I have read many posts about the RV500 Tankless Water Heater.
Most are nonsense because they are posted by people who know nothing about them and just want to sound like engineers or people who don't own them and completely misunderstand the product and its capabilities.

I want people who are interested in the product to know that I recently purchased one for our 40 KZ Esclade as a replacement for our Suburban SW12DE which fried a Solinoid.

I purchased this unit from a local RV tech who has a returned one from an elderly gal that was afraid of the sound of gas coming on. Go figure...

Anyway, I sent an email to the manufacture of the RV500 asking about winter temperature tolerances and the winter package. We also got into a discussion about the specifics of how the unit is expected to perform which I was familiar with from my readings but dissapointed with upon installation.

It turns out the unit is not performing to specs. The good thing is that the fella I spoke with and whom had exchanged several emails with was very interested in helping me solve my issues and get my questions answered.

I bought the item used and still got this kind of support. He has asked me to call back when I am in front of the unit and have done a basic water flow test to troubleshoot with his more senior tech on the line. This is very impressive and should give anyone considering purchasing one of these unites the warm fuzzies. They also discussed the "Winter Package" and it is not installed in my unit. They were able to check with the unit serial number. I ordered it and they are shipping it right out.

Email the source, call the source, call or email people who have experience with the product and you will get a knowledgable answer...all others are simply having fun answering highly technical questions...no harm done I guess.

Thanks for the information on RV-500 water heater.---Installation PDF
Couple of questions did it fit in same opening as the Suburban WH and did you consider some of the electric water heaters on the market.

I noticed that it is only good to -10F. Do you do any cold weather camping, what about at higher elevations? I go up to MT Baker, and Stevens pass skiing and the winter and have concerns about these. Do you plan on doing any winter camping where you can test it out?

Thanks
