FT--did you replace the capacitors when you put in the new motors?

The You Tube video repairman says it should be done when you replace the motor.

Just wondering.....

It is not hard but is tedious due to what you are working around and it being a tight area, dont want to damage a coil. Biggest tip take your time. You only need a few tools. I found it easier to remove the fans before trying to remove the motor, they come off ok once you get them moving, its a metal shaft and plastic fan so not to bad. After removing it I measured the old shafts were then fans were then put marks on the new shaft to be sure I got them back in the right place. I bought a new capacitor to have if needed but didn’t change at same time since I can do it myself when needed. The capacitor has worked fine so far but it did have to work harder due to the bad motor. Changing it at the time of motor replacement is more for if you are paying for the labor and they are already there its only about a $10 part so have it done.

Oh, you have already worked on these Dave? Well that's great! Should I order the motor?

I'm just nervous about you being up there....

That's fine Dave, no problem. Blue Moon RV cleaned that unit in April or May of 2012 and I haven't done anything with it since then.

The OEM motor I posted was 127.00 plus freight and shipping. If you can get it cheaper at United that's fine too. I do want to replace the capacitor as well.

Thanks Dave

Well, I finally got the ID number and have realized the rear A/C unit is an 11,000 btu power saver unit, I thought it was a 13,500 btu.

I am planning on replacing the existing motor. I was thinking if I have an 11 year old unit maybe I should look at replacing the whole A/C unit.

But I was looking at 13,500 btu.

I sent an email to Fleetwood asking about the possibility of replacement with a 13,500 btu.

I know for sure that coach will stay cool in the 110 heat with another 2,500 btu. But not for sure if it would overload the Intellitec/Shed system.

I can't afford to pay attention right now, so this is gonna have to wait if I buy a new unit....ugh....

I was wondering about the power requirements of a 11,000 btu against a 13,500 btu unit and if it would make any difference to the Intellitec/Shed system.

A 13.5K BTU should only pull another amp or two over the 11K BTU unit.

So since the Intellitec does not let both A/C compressors on at the same time, it shouldn't matter, right?

What's weird is the shroud on the rear A/C says Coleman Mach III. But the Serial and Model number are a Coleman Mach I.

Thanks Jes
