I recently tried to use a 30A to 50A pigtail to "havvest" the female end. I want to do an inground line (using #6 4-wire for the 50 feet) to make a "neat" connection that would be under my RV. (Our Rv is on our son's property so we don't want it to look like an RV set up.) The end I used didn't work. Is there a place to get just a female RV plug? Or even a SHORT, thus not expensive, extension cord - like 2-5 feet? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ron

Ron,
Here is one possible source for your "pig-tail."

For a 30 amp end the plug cap and receptacle is a 120 volt 30 amp three wire variety and can be purchased at any electrical supply house. Not sure if Home Depot or Lowe's has it but they might. The 50 amp is the same as a 50 amp 4 wire range cord and receptacle. You could make a 50 amp short extension cord by using a range cord and receptalce and they are sold at Home Depot and Lowe's as well as an electrical supply house.

Thanks! Home Depot had the connector. I put it in a 2 gain box (so there was enough room for the wires) with a bubble cover and it works like a charm. This is the best, most useful RV forum I've read or used!)
