50 to 30 surge protector

is there any reason i can't/shouldn't use my 50 amp portable surge protector with a 50 to 30 connector on a 30 amp park line.

By all means use your surge protector. Just put the 30 amp adapter on the plug and you are good to go.

Well... not only is there no reason NOT to use a 50 amp surge protector when hooked to 30 amp power.... It will work BETTER than a 30 amp unit.

The reason is that a 50 amp unit is nearly 4 times better at suppressing spikes

All the above. I do it all the time with the PT50C when the CG only has 30 amp.
