I was running my generator the other day when all of a sudden it just died. I have tried to restart it but it does not. Checked oil and water and everything is normal. I checked the fusses and they are fine. I have a fuel tank of diesel so it is not the 1/4tank shut off. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

When you attempt to start, it should flash a code ...a sequence of blinks on the switch on the generator itself. The manual will translate the code to tell you what the problem is. For instance, when mine would not run after having it serviced the code was "coolant overheat". I found the service place had not purged all the air out of the system.

I don't get any flash codes. Sounds like maybe I have something wrong in the controller circuitry. Guess its time to take it to the shop.

When you say it will not start, can you hear it turning the engine over?

The engine starter turns the engine over as normal but it does not start.

Push and hold the stop side of the switch on the generator. You should be able to hear the fuel pump run. If not, the problem is the fuel pump or it's circuit.

Take the front cover off where the hobbs meter is and see if there is water laying in there. If your coach AC drips down on top of gen, which most do, it shorts the controls. When you push the start switch it dosen't send current to the board it is switched to ground. and when you stop it it is also switched to ground

Without more information it could be a lot of things but here are a few:

Low Battery voltage.
Plugged oil filter.
Faulty oil pressure switch.
Plugged fuel filter.
Faulty fuel pressure switch.
Bad Voltage regulator.
Bad Control Module.
Clogged air cleaner.

Last oil change about 6 mo's ago. I have never had a fuel filter cut the engine off so quickly. Normally you begin to get cutting out and loss of power. This just shut down and I do not get any error code flashes so something is haywire in the control circuitry I think.

I think the "key" to your problem is that you are not getting a blink code. A place to start is in the control cable that goes from inside your coach to the generator. Within a short distance of the gen you will find a multi-pin plug. Your problem may be corrosion in that plug.

Are you low on fuel (mine will not run below 1/4 tank).
