The heating system won't turn on. I'm assuming I have a hydronic heating system. The manual must be missing from literature that came with the coach. The only thing I've found is a Seaward hot water heater located located behind an external access panel on the right side of the coach. Hopefully someone will be able to help me find the heat system so can try to get it working.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

It appears I have a Heater Craft hydronic heat system in my Beaver Monterey. It won't turn on I don't have any manuals for it. I haven't found much help searching the web. Does anyone have any info on this system? Know of any manuals for it?

I'm not familiar with your RV, but I have a suggestion until someone else posts a more knowledgeable answer. Look on the RV exterior for the furnace's vent. It should be pretty easy to spot and will tell you where the heating unit is located. Also, do you have the gas supply turned "on", is the thermostat turned to "heat", and is the thermostat calling for heat? Does the water heater work on gas?

I'd be surprised if a Monterey has a hydronic system, but maybe it was an option. The Montereys I've seen have standard LP furnaces. The Marquis had hydronic, but not many Montereys.

I see from your other post that you believe you have a Heater craft hydronic system. I have merged the two threads together here.

I found the unit just aft of the generator. It is indeed a a Hurricane diesel fired heater. The switch controls were in the bedroom next to the bed. It came on for a bit, but then stopped heating. Probably used what fuel was in the accumulator before it quit. The coach is somewhat low on fuel (I know-not good). Going to fill it up today. Found a manual for the heater at the Beaver technical site. Great info there!

Don't know your Beaver nor the Hurrican Hydronic, BUT...most hydronic diesel burner systems include the feature to shut down burner operation when the fuel source gets down to a certain level. As such, if your main diesel fuel tanks are "low" as you said, your burner may have recognized that, and shut down until ya fuel up. It's a feature which prevents the hydronic burner from using up ALL the diesel fuel in your rig's diesel tanks so as not to strand the rig somewhere with empty tanks.

Roy, I have the same exact problem on the 98 I just bought, but I can't find the Beaver technical site. Where did you find it? - Jim

These heaters are proned to drawing air between the heater and the coach's fuel tank. My heater would start sputtering and then shut down after a few minutes of use. To determine whether or not the heater was sucking air into the heater fuel supply line, I replaced the short fuel line between the inline fuel filter outlet side and the heater with a "clear" pvc hose, available at most hardware stores. And sure enough, I could see air entering the heater in the clear hose. To further troubleshoot, I put about 4 feet of hose to the fuel filter inlet and stuck that hose in a clean container of diesel. Heater runs perfectly doing this trick and no more air bubbles visible in the clear hose. This tells me the heater is sucking air between the heater system and all the way up to the coach's main fuel tank. I climbed under the coach and followed the line best I could. It appears the line goes somewhere into the top of the fuel tank. Not easy to access. Hope someone else chimes in if they've had similiar problems. Looks like I'll have to drop that tank to fix the air sucking problem. Doesn't look like an easy task.
