A&E WP Awning Fill With Water When Closed

I own a 2008 Fleetwood Excursion with a A&E WeatherPro 8500 series awning. When the awning is closed (retracted) and it rains, the awning collects water. When I open the awning, the water will drain... either off the forward or aft end. When it empties off the forward end it soaks the stairs and entry area. I've inspected the cover along the roof when retracted and don't see anything obvious.

Has anyone had this issue? Thanks in advance for your posts.

Last member who reported this issue had, the water drain trough above the awning plugged at both ends, the overflow was collecting in the awning instead of draining.
Trough looks like this.

Thanks for that info. I inspected that area and found some of that 2 inch strip of canvas pulled out from the groove. The nylon rope material that holds the canvas in the groove is missing. A local marine canvas shop is getting me some of the nylon rope. I will install it and let all know how it works out. Thanks for the response.
