A/C w/shore power, but NO A/C w/generator ON

I have a 2nd prob: (I am a newbie w/'97 Winnebago Brave MH.) On first campground experience, A/C worked great on shore power. Driving home last weekend though (85 degrees in TX & sun shining brightly into windows) A/C would NOT kick-on after I turned generator on w/no problem. I know delay in A/C kick-on is to be expected, but it never would come on. I tried twice. Any ideas?

Peppermintpj1, I am sure you checked the circuit breaker on the generator. If not there is one on the generator itself. If it is ok, look inside the compartment where your power cord is connected and see if by chance there is a receptacle that matches the plug on the end of the cord. If so plug the shore cord into the receptacle and start the generator. If this is the type transfer your coach has, you should be good to go. If you do not have a recpectacle off the generator then an automatic transfer switch is not engaging and causing your problem. You will need to have a qualified person diagnose and repair or replace this devise. Good luck and let us know what you find.
