DO you leave it on all the time.. Yes, and No.
Is it possible to leave it on all the time YES
On propane or electric EIther
Will it hurt anything? Well if on propane it will cost more. on electric depends on who is paying for it.

I usually turn mine off if I am about to change parks, and won't turn it back on till the evening before I plan on using hot water (Dishes) the next day. THen I'll leave it on till I change parks.

I did one thing though many may find odd. but I did it on the advice of an expert and I have to say.. Good advice.

I park on a mix of 50 amp sites (Today) and 30 (Tomorrow in fact) and with the OEM water heater tripping the park 30 amp was.. Well Common, I had to turn the water heater off before using the Microwave as an example. Wife was a Microwave expert (long story) I tend to use other means but still microwave from time to time (Tonight's dinner for example)

On the advice of Fred (RV101byFred dot com as I recall). When the original tank got religion (Became holey and leaky) when I put in the new tank I removed the 1500 Watt 120 volt element that came pre-installed and put in a 1500 watt 240 volt element.. The result is 375 watts.

Takes 4x as long to heat up the water. but since I rarley need more than 6 Gallons of hot in one setting not a problem.. But it also takes a whole lot longer to trip the 30 amp park breaker 375 is close to what the Fridge draws in case you are wondering.. Making it a "Small" instead of "Big" ticket item. Very happy I am with that modification.

And should the 375 watt element ever fry.. I have a spare 1500 (Both new and used) lying beside the water heater for instant replacement .
