AC issue please help us newbies

Hello, we are new to the RV world but really enjoy it. But recently while boondocking at a jobsite in savannah ga it was hot so we hooked up to a generator for power so we were able to run the AC. It kept tripping the breaker on the generator. It only done it Afer it ran, then got to the desired temp.
So we read up on it & ordered some parts. We replaced the 2 copacitors, cleaned the coils, changed out the thermostat (he got a residential honeywell non programmable so we are not sure if it's wired correctly), although it works & it's not tripping breakers it starts clicking after it cycles. Then it continues to click again & again several times. This not only gets to being an annoying sound it keeps me up at night. Does anyone know anything else it could be causing it to do this?

What's clicking AC, Thermostat, generator?
AC is Duo-therm Dometic brisk air 2 13,500 btu. We removed the furnace from our TT so the thermostat is only running the AC. Generator we used is a duro max hybrid 2 XP10000EH. It still does the clicking when connected to shore power. The clicking noise sounds as if it's in the thermostat. Bought our TT used & abused. Took alot out & completely refloored the entire thing. Both of us are hot natured & don't see many trips in the camper in snow areas so a small electric heater does fine w us. But not having AC in the south can be brutal. I will work on getting pics, what specifically do u need to see?
