AC problem - advice?

Turned our AC (13.5K) on this morning and it was slow starting. We are hooked to 30amp power at campground, and it was showing 120 draw, but I did not look to see if the draw went down as AC was slow to start. After about 5 mins, we heard what sounded like a loud pressure release bang and AC stopped working. Neighbors said there was a puff of smoke from the roof/AC area. I went up and there is no obvious burning or other indication of what blew. The unit doesn't smell like something burnt. Freon blown? Remedy? Any insight would be appreciated.

Were you running two A/C s on the 30 amp service ?
You may have blown the start up capacitor ; if someone saw smoke.
The capacitor builds up power then discharges it to boost the power supplied to the A/C compressor at start up . The location of the capacitor may be shown in your owners manual.

Nope, just one AC unit... I have a hard start capacitor installed, so that may be the issue. I'll check it.
