Today, I had a minor brain fart and backed up our Georgetown without disconnecting ground power. There was plenty of slack in the cord, but it got trapped under the rear duallys and the cord was ripped out of the power control center box.

The relay (a Deltrol DPDT unit) in the Todd Engineering Power Switch was mechanically damaged (top part broken off) and is not repairable.

I can't find the relay p/n on Deltrol's web-site nor any reference on the web to the manufactirer of the power switchin center, Todd Engineering in Elkhart.

I have found what seems to be an equivalent box by another vendor at Camping World, and will be going in Monday to discuss it. Any comments?

Was this an automatic transfer switch, or manual? Transfer switches are pretty standard in operation, so you should be able to wire in a replacement from another vendor, as long as it's rated for the same power.

Replace the whole transfer switch and count it as lesson learned. You can buy parts but you will have to do a lot of research to find a vendor that will sell retail.

I thought Todd had gone out of business? Any transfer switch ought to work, as long as the physical dimensions fit. Theer are 30A and 50A models.

If the checkbook can stand it, consider one of the Surge Guard units with the built-in power monitor and surge protection, e.g. the Surge Guard 40250. Pricey but sweet!

Gary:

I've ordered a Progressive Dynamics unit, which is supposed to offer the exact same functionality, from a local RV service shop and will replace the whole thing.
