Add SAT to 2017 Miramar 35.2

I am picking up my 2017 Thor Marimar 35.2 motorhome tomorrow morning. I have a satellite dish and would like to hook up to the 50" popup TV. Is any one know where the access to the TV wiring is I asked the technician and he wanted around $1,200.00 wire it. Thought a little high
I suppose I will find the control area but wanted to know if there was anyone that ran into this problem.

Thanks,

Phil

The satellite antenna will have to be installed to the entertainment center location where the satellite receiver will be installed. Some antennas will require a separate 12vdc circuit as well as a good RG6 coaxial cable. Once you have this side wired a receiver can be installed where there will be wiring (HDMI) out to the TV already in place. Good luck and keep us posted.

I looked at the brochure on your rig and it states it is satellite ready. That would at least mean that the proper cable has been installed from the exterior bay to the entertainment center. It might even include wiring from the roof to the entertainment center as well if a roof mounted dish was in your plans. You weren't specific on if the dish you plan to use is a portable or roof mounted unit. If a portable unit just connecting it to the sat connection on the exterior is all you need. The other end gets attached to the receiver and has got to be near the entertainment center, maybe behind the OTA/ cable power box. An HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV is all that's left. A $1200 install charge would have to cover a roof mount installation, anything else would be absurd. If you already had a roof unit that's still too much. It sounds like they are trying to sell you a dish.

I don't have a Miramar but on my Challenger (which was also Sat ready) is a plate that is put under the TPO roof for mounting of a roof dish. The connection in the electrical bay (at least on my coach) is for park cable only.
