I plan to add a 12 volt outlet in the bathroom for charging my cell phone and ipad. Monkeys LOVE to play with electronics and the bathroom is the only real safe place. I am thinking I can piggyback on the lightswitch line and avoid having to run wire to the panel. Is this going to work?

Sure will, just make sure you use the non-switched 12V lead.

Exactly! I added two map reading lights to the cab of our MR, one on the drivers side I just found a spare fuse and hooked to it. On the passenger side I hooked into the lighted door handle which is on the same circuit as the porch light. The map light goes off when I turn on the outside light so I must have tied into the wrong wire!!

I have found the socket sold by Pep Boys to work very well.

For as little current that the chargers will draw you will be fine.
