Air Conditioner Failed and now RV blows the breaker

A couple of 113 degree days in Paso Robles and I'm afraid the bedroom A/C finally gave up. It was working like a champ and then all of a sudden it started blowing hot air. I shut it down and waited 12 hours then tried to fire it back up. The fan blows hard but you can hear the compressor try to start and then stop. I was plugged into 50 amp all week. I come home and plug into a 30 amp plug in the garage and it blows the breaker at the garage panel. I'm wondering if the two issues are related. #1, Can the A/C be repaired cost effectively or should I bite the bullet and get a new one? #2, How should I troubleshoot what is causing the breaker to blow?

If the compressor is locked up and causing the breaker to blow you are better off with a new one. As far as I am aware compressors as not affordable to change.
Test trying to start the offending AC unit with nothing else running. If it trips the breaker !!
Good luck

Perhaps it is just the start and run capacitors needing replacement. It could draw a lot of current trying to start up.

I should've noted that the breaker blows immediately after plugging into shore even though the A/C is off. So maybe not related? Its as if there is a short to ground.

I would try turning off all the circuit breakers then connect your shore power cord. If the house breaker doesn’t trip turn on each coach breaker till it does this should isolate your problem to the circuit causing the House breaker to trip. Yes your a/c may have a bad capacitor also.

Fire up the generator and see what happens.

I tried this. Turned off main breaker in coach. Plugged into Wall and breaker blows. Could it be the 50 to 30 amp pigtail? Do those go bad?

Check pig tail and transfer switch as well.

Yes, the pigtales can overheat and melt the insulation.

How do I test the Transfer switch? If AC works on generator is it good?

Here are some pictures of the guts of the A/C that is not working. Anything I can test here?

Yes pigtails can and do go bad. If you have an ohm meter check between the ends while unplugged. All should should high, infinite resistance. Any resistance between them while the cord is unplugged from everything shows a bad cord.
