Air conditioners

We have a Holiday Rambler 2006 Neptune. The back air conditioner do longer blows cold air and the front one is blowing less and less cold air.
Anyone know how you can recharge them (freon). Cannot afford new ones, and it is HOT here.

Several threads on this but in short ... They aren't reparable ,no recharge port.. You can fix the leak pump it down and then refill after adding a valve .. If you have it done it will cost more than a new one .. Now if you can do all that yourself ....

Correct, they are sealed units and not intended to be recharged. Even if the valves were there you would still need to find the leak(s).. If you have determined that the problem is not due to dirty coils or other issues get 2 new ones and you will be much happier.

A professional may be able to recharge however......

When was the last time you cleaned it? Mine start acting up cleaning is step one.. and with one exception there has been no step 2. That one got replaced.

There is no re-charging, they are "sealed" units. If it no longer blows cold air it is 95% certain you need to replace. I ordered one, had it shipped and a buddy and I replaced it in a half hour or so. Very simple... Just a little muscle and care to get it on and off roof.

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet....are you sure the compressor is running? If it's not, could be the start capacitor is bad...that's about a $75 fix.

Also be sure the thermostat is working okay....also a cheap fix.

Unless you can trouble shoot 12V and 120V connections along with the control boards for these models (not sure what brand), you'll need someone who's done it before. There are parts that can be replaced.

Mine stops cooling about every year. Clean the coils and cools like new. We full time and use them a lot.
