Almost a huge disaster!
We moved into a new to us house about a month ago and we had to park the coach at a storage lot while the movers, landscapers, and everyone else did their thing before we could bring it home and park it for the summer in the driveway next to the garage.
Well, the big day came and we went and got the coach, backed it into the driveway, showed the neighbors how we spend our winters, turned everything off, and plugged it into my trusty heavy-duty extension cord using a couple of adapters to plug it into a standard 115 volt outlet in the garage.
The intention was to go to Home Depot the next day and get an outdoor box, breaker, some wire, and a socket to do wire up a 50 amp service for the coach.
A couple of hours later, I went out to the coach and noticed that the Magnum control panel was flashing "Over Current"
A little detective work with my trusty Digital Volt Meter showed that the previous home owner had wired three 115 volt outlets in the garage to provide 220 volts!
I had a few things plugged into that string of outlets but had never turned anything on and everything was turned off in the coach.
Long story short....................No damage! Very very lucky!
Think I will go buy some lottery tickets after I send a thank you note to Magnum.

That was close reminds me of the 30 amp wiring in this house I have, they had hooked splices in wiring runs.
To help if you have not seen this link for RV Wiring, should make things easier for electrician.

If I were you, I would not buy a lotto ticket but would highly recommend you go buy a Surge Guard and get it in the power line ASAP. The next time you will not be so lucky.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike but I just removed the unit from the coach to send it back as it did not do a thing.
My surge guard was hard wired to the bulkhead right at the cable entry point next to the transfer switch.
As a matter of fact, it said all was well, according to the LED's.
Oh well..................S**T happens!

Hi Ray,
Did you find out what happened with the surge protector? I purchased a portable 50 amp protector and hope it will save the coach from things you described.

Thanks for the reminder Gerry and a short update too.
Time to make a phone call to the surge protector guy as he never did get back to me or replace it. Hmmmm!
Also, there was a little damage afterall.
The controller board for the onboard central vacuum that was live all the time is now dead all of the time.
I wasn't about to pay $85.00 for a new controller or HOW MUCH for a new vacuum so we decided on an external switch.
$12.00 worth of parts and a little solder and the vacuum is vacuuming again!
Doing another walkthru today to make sure everything else is still functional.
It has been a busy summer.
