Unless there are parts and pieces all over the roadway, I am convined that we could all save a ton of money, time, effort ect. by calling the manufacterer's technical support number on ANY piece of equipmnet that fails to operate properly before we obtain local service and \ or repair.
My washer/dryer combo started to act up. I called a local mobile RV service tech and after 3 visiits and an expensive module board I had only limited improvement. I deceided to call the manufacturer to locate a "regular" appliance repair company in the area to try to fix the problem. The Manufacturer's rep suggested I talk to the service techs first. The Tech listened to the symptons, and assured me that the problem was simply fixed and that even with rudimentry mechanical skills I could fix it myself. Ten minutes of work effort and a straightened out "PAPER CLIP" repaired my washer. I believe that my fix was all that was originally needed to begin with and should have been caught by the mobile RV guy. As I think back I've talked many times with a Service Technician about many different problems from install to operation and now repair. I'm never going to call anyone else first again. Just food for thought and a chance to vent some frustration. Thanks all and good roads to you.
