Amish Cooling Unit Installation

I ordered an Amish CU for my Norcold 1200 a few days ago so I'm studing all the installation info I can find. I am confused on a particular step about sealing the new CU. If someone who has done the install would set me straight......I get the part about applying the 1/2 inch bead of mastic on the tubes for the freezers and lower box and the part about putting a bead of mastic around the area on the box where the CU foam plug will fit, 3/4 inch down. But, do I run the expanding foam bead around the cutout just outside the mastic bead now, or do I lay the new CU in place then lift it up a bit to spray the foam around the outside circumference?
Do I let the foam expand and dry first? This is where I'm a bit confused. Would someone kindly tell me step by step how I should handle those tasks? Thanks for any assistance!!

I always follow the direction on tha mastic on the tubes bolt it all in then I put foil tape on the back where the unit fits into the box and it works fine also put the tap around any pipes or wires coming through, I don't know about the foam seems like it would push the CU outward.

You are correct about the thermal mastic applied to the coils. That is a must!!!! You would use the spray foam furnished around the side wall of the refrigerator cavity either above or below the bead of thermal mastic used on the sides, but not on the outer top after the coils are installed-the extra thermal mastic bead around the sides is not that important, it's only stated that way because you might have some left over an it's good for nothing else so use it. The Spray Foam is very important, since most RV tech's will rely on the foil back tape to seal, tape is not a sealer. You must spray good size bead all around the side wall before you lay the cooling unit in place. This will confirm no air leaks.
The Thermal Masitc is a cold transfer compound and Spray Foam is a sealer, neither of the 2 will bond cooling unuit in place. Cooling units are not bonded in, only tight to prevent air leaks. When you replace a cooling unit there's no way to slide the coilsfoam block in to the refrigerator cavity an get the same air tight seal, but if spray foam is used before the coils are laid in place you will get that air tight seal. All the Amish units are shipped with this special type of Spray Foam for confirmed sealing and will not push, over expand, or bond preventing coils from being able to be removed in case a warranty issue a raises later.
