Antifreeze in Suburban Water Heater OK?

I have a Suburban 6 gallon LP only water heater. The bypass value (I think I see it) will be a real pain to reach and turn to bypass the water heater. To feel comfortable I would have to remove a glued in wooden panel and convert it to something removable. The other option is to use the air blow out method (not my preference) or to just use more antifreeze and fill up the water heater. I seem to remember someone saying that is not a good idea on a Suburban water heater? I would anticipate draining it and replacing the anode rod with a simple plastic cap.

The down size of that method is the extra antifreeze needed (7 gallons or so instead of 1) or just use the air blow out method?

As always ideas appreciated.

Where in Texas would you anticipate the need for RV anti-freeze ?
Sorry just had to ask.
Drain by removing the rod and blow the lines. 30 psi every tap and the toilet, for 15 mins. This takes care of the water system ; EXCEPT the 12v pump ; remove the pump and store away from freezing temperatures. Leave the rod out till ready to use, then drain and re-fill by pulling the rod.
The anti-freeze will permeate the metal and smell up the hot water forever; well almost forever.
Do not ask how I know this.

No, antifreeze would be ok in there, just a waste.
But I always blow out lines and it's fine. But get ALL of them.
