Aquahot systems
Looking at new Anthem and Aspire today.
We were informed that the 400D Aquahot system
DID NOT have the preheat engine loop. We would
need to go to the 450 unit to get the loop.
Is this only for Entegra or does it apply universal?
We have a Monaco Windsor with the AH100-01S
and it has the loop.

I think the engine heating is up to the manufacturer of the RV and not just the model of AquaHot model. We have the 600D and I'm not even sure how to turn it on yet. Just haven't needed it.

Aquahot systems
Engine heat is a function of the Aquahot unit. The 450D has it.
Mr.D there should be an engine heat switch, either at the overhead panel or a switch near the Aquahot unit itself.

I started this question asking if ALL 400D did not have the engine loop,
as the salesman stated. He said you had to go to the 450D to get that.
I was not talking about 600's or any other models.
I was curious if this was only with Entegra or applied to ALL 400 models.
I was actually hoping to get a response from someone with a 400 model
that had the engine preheat loop.

It seems the salesman is right on this one. According to the AquaHot website and owners manual the 400D does not have the engine preheat loop, the 450D does.

Thank you.
We have a 2002 Monaco Windsor with Aquahot. Ours has the
engine preheat and I use it whenever temps drop. Nice firing up
a warm engine.
We have been looking at newer coaches and want Aquahot.
I was surprised to hear about the "missing" preheat loop.
This would be a big thing for us while "looking".

The 400 units don't have the engine preheat function, as you've found out, but, most coaches that have the 400 series units have block heaters installed that serve the same purpose. I make it a point to not be anywhere that I would need either one. In all the years that I've owned diesels, I've only ever preheated when temps had been well below 20, and that for several days with the engine off. I'm long gone before that point.

I was meaning the engine heat function. We have used both the electric elements although not both elements unless on a 50 amp service and I turn on the burner for showers.

Aquahot only has a single electric element, Oasis has two. I found the Aquahot provided hotter water when using the single electric element compared to the Oasis with two elements....go figure. Additionally, I found the Aquahot was also hotter when using the diesel burner, compared to Oasis diesel burner. I had an Aquahot 450 newly installed in my old coach last year and an Oasis in my new coach this year, so my comparison is pretty fresh.

I don't want to discourage you from "looking" as I do that whenever I go to a RV show but your 2002 Monaco Windsor is one of the best rigs around.
You will never find another coach built as well as what you have unless you plan on spending $450,000 or even a lot more.
Even then you may not get the same quality as what you already have.

To clear up your confusion the brochure/product sheet lists all three of the 400 Series models.
The 400LP is LPG powered.
The 400D is diesel powered.
The 450D is diesel powered with the engine loop.
