Aquarium tubing unclogs frig drain

Today while I was installing the new frig fan, I noticed water draining down the front of the cabinet. After sopping and mopping, I discovered the drain was overflowing down the back of the frig inside. Must be clogged, so I went looking for something to run down the narrow hole. I tried a 12" cable tie, but it didn't clear it. I was afraid to stick anything too rigid thru there, and then I happened to find a length of silicone aquarium tubing. It fit in nicely and with a short puff of air, the clog was gone.

And the frig fan installs in minutes and works GREAT!

Actually, there was a kink in the drain tube. It caused a "p" trap of sorts that would stop water from draining. Once I remove the outside access panel and straightened out the drain tube, all is working great! The new frig fan keeps the fins from icing up and frig is cooler.

The aquarium tubing helped me diagnosis the problem. I really like quick, free fixes!
