Ariston/Splendide washer question

Ours broke, about 3 months past the 1-year warranty period, but would not have mattered; water leaks are expressly excluded. Question for anyone with past washer repairs/replacement. We have no idea what needs repairing or how much it will cost. So, with this little information, repair or replace? Thank you in advance for the typically great information you all provide.

You can get service manuals online and buy parts direct. Few repairs are difficult with even modest skills, but getting the w/d out of its cabinet might be a chore. Splendide parts aren't cheap, but neither are other brands.

I can't imagine scrapping a 15 month old washer/dryer, but if you get all your repairs done at the prices RV dealers charge, maybe that is a realistic alternative.

We have a water leak from somewhere inside the machine. The water lines are all good, no sign of water on the exterior of any of them, but the washer leaks. It leaks less when we are using the water pump (and only when we need water) than when we are on city water, but the leak seems related to water being supplied to the machine and not to the use of the machine.

That's certainly encouraging. I guess I'll give it a try. Thank you, gerdutch!

Good Luck. Once you get the unit out on the floor, it comes apart simply with few screws and you should notice your leak in quick order. I'm thinking a quick fix? Unless the pump or some other plastic part separated....

Thank you, Gary! I'll look for the service manuals. Yes, it was a chore to remove it, but we managed. We had to do it in order to turn off the water. We were also able to examine the water lines which I'd hoped was the problem. Unfortunately (?) they were sound, not leaking.

Yes, that's where we were headed and may still arrive if we can't get it to stop leaking when water is supplied to it. Thanks again for the information. I'll try to use it well.

Ya got to take the thing out one way or the other to replace it so why not run it when it's out and see where the leak is and if it's repairable.

I agree with you, Ray. We plan to do so. Thank you for the reminder and suggestion!

I would check the clean out in the front behind the cover. I have seen this come lose on ours in travels.

There is also the check valve item accessible from there as well without having to pull the unit from the cabinet.

after that it is a pull and look from there.
