Atwood Carbon Monoxide Alarm

After installing new Duracell MN1500 batteries (as suggested) in my co detector, the window shows 888 (as it should) but 30 seconds later the window goes to err accompanied by a chirp. What do I need to do or is it time for a new detector?

Look on the back of the detector for manufacturing date. If over 5 years, it is time for a new detector. Of coarse, one can go bad before the five years too.

If its a Nighthawk brand, give them a call. They had some with that problem and when I called and told them what it was doing (exactly what yours is doing) they offered to send me a new one for free.
