Atwood GH670 Water Heater Lockout problems

Since pulling our Winnie Adventurer 32RQ MH out of winter storage we have been getting irregular performance out of the water heater (gas only Atwood model # listed in the thread heading.)

The burner will light when we flip the water heat switch inside and will run for sometime until , I assume, it reads that the tank is hot. We get warm but not hot water out of the tap at that point. If we leave a hot spigot on inside and start to drain the tank, instead of the burner re-igniting after awhile it will cycle two-three times but not light and then show a lockout status inside via a dummy light. If I turn the heater off and then back on after several minutes I can get it to re-light but that process is not automatic now. I must manually turn off and then back on the switch to re-heat. It does seem like later tankfuls we get hotter water out of the tap.

Do I have something going out or do you just think this is a by-product of winter storage and I am getting air pockets in the LP gas system pipes to the different burner locations? If it is the latter how long should it take to clear the air? We have used the coach for a whole weekend already and cycled multiple hot water tanks through. It also doesn't make sense that there seems to be enough gas to run when it dos run. Maybe a switch or connection?

HELP please?! Thanks in advance!

I would check conections at the water heater.

Certainly seems prudent to try. Anybody else dealt with this lockout situation on an Atwood WH specifically?
