I have an 8500 Atwood heater that will not kick on. I have removed the outside cover and found that the circuit board is flashing a 1 pulse with a 3 second pause. I tells me that it is a code for a limit switch. Has any one run into this? Any help on this would be appreciated because I hate dealing with the local RV company. Thanks Bryan the newbee.

Hello Bryan. First off can you tell us what voltage you have at the furnace when it is trying to run? Low voltage can cause the motor not to run fast enough to set the sail switch. If you have good voltage. Then the sail switch can be sticking, pest could have built a nest around it or less likely a broken wire. The sail switch is inside the front area of the blower housing; two wires coming out top right corner.

Look for a RED wire,, It should be connected to a terminal that comes out of a foam rubber like piece of "Tape" with a disc shaped part under it.

That, is the limit switch.

ATTWOOD instructions say to lift this wire off the switch when winterizing by the way.. Prevents accidental activation.
