Atwood On-Demand Water Heater

Anyone familiar with these relatively new units? I'm thinking of replacing a 6 gallon unit with the 45,000 BTU Atwood. So much negative buzz regarding the Girards that it is steering me away from those.

I read that the Attwood tankless system was designed by Precision Temp for them. If so the Precision Temp units seem to work much better than the Girard units.
They have a variable heating system to keep the temp constant. There may be some negative posts about them but I don't recall seeing any .

Would these units be subject to "slugging" like some residentials are? Slugging is when the water flow through the HWH becomes so low that it cuts off and you get a slug of cold water. This usually occurs when the water is hot enough that a lot of cold water is mixed in reducing the amount of hot water in the mix and thus through the HWH.

Since RV shower nozzles tend to be even more restrictive than many home units, I would think this could be exaggerated even more. But could be an interesting experience.

One of the things that concerns me about on demand water heaters in RV's is the ability of a 20# propane bottle to deliver enough propane vapor at low outdoor temps. The propane has to boil out from liquid by pulling heat out of the air, and when the air temperature gets down below about 30 degrees outside that starts impacting the amount of gas you can pull out of a bottle. Maybe if you ran both tanks at the same time that would be ok but I don't know of any auto-changeover valves that pull from both sides at the same time.

I have a 52# propane tank. Reviews seem mixed and at $900 I'm reluctant to spring for one before I get more positive info. Thanks to all for your thoughts so far.
