Atwood relay

My GE16EXT Atwood water heater has a #93849 Atwood relay which controls the power to the element at the back. On the 120v contacts, is it possible to reverse them? The relay is single pole, single throw, normally open.

Sorry, I asked the question wrong. I'll try again. Is it possible to reverse the incoming and outgoing hot wires on the 2-120v terminals?

Inquiring minds want to know why?

A relay is a dumb switch. On and off. Like throwing a light switch. It is just controlled by a magnet driven by 12 volts.

You cannot interchange the 12 volt control side with the 110 volt side.

Not my question. On the two 120v terminals (forget the 12v terminals) can u put the incoming 120v hot wire on the wrong 120v terminal?

No because is a spst so it's just open or closed. As soon as power is sent to either terminal it will change to the opposite state

Got it, thanks. The reason for my question: Had new water heater installed by RV guy. Paid RV guy. Wouldn't heat water on elec. RV guy won't come back. Getting 12v and 120v to relay but nothing at the element. Thought relay bad so plan to replace myself but wasn't sure about mis-wiring the 120v side. Thanks.

Never hurts to double check. It's supposed to be a "dumb" switch, but when I doubt check it out
