Atwood UHP-10 hot water heater.

20 Year old HR platform, Spartan Chassis.

Mine is proving beyond repair. This is an electric/heat exchange type.

After pulling the burned element I found two of the four bolt holes have no threads in them (!), and it has been leaking from behind the entire control face.

Made the pressure valve being bad also seem unimportant, really.

Any thoughts on where to find one, or has anyone done a retrofit for one of these? I've had zero luck locating one.

Thanks in advance!

Ed

Your 20 yr old Atwood is behind the eight ball.......

The 'bolt on' electric element/with attached t-stats was no longer used AFTER your model year (1996)---screw in elements were the new thing

Then in 2004 Atwood did a complete design change ....DC Controls for both electric/propane functions (just one set of t-stats/DC circuit board/controls)
Electric is triggered by DC Relay

In 2006 ALL T&P Relief Valves are 3/4" vs the 1/2" versions

So you can replace that OLD out of date Atwood with a NEW Version Combo Unit ---- will just need to do some wiring addition/modifications
10 gal will fit in same space as old 10 gal

Time to come into the 21st Century
