Atwood Water Heater LP Gas Operation

Re 10 Gallon LP Combination Gas/Electric Water Heater Model 10-E. Works fine on electric. On LP Gas, will not light. Ignition problem? The heater makes several attempts to light then locks out. There is gas (can smell it) getting to the igniter. Have cleaned flue tube, cleaned electrode with slight carbon buildup and tried to relight without thermal cutoff fuse but still won't light. Suggestions?

water heater non light condition

I don't know what MH you have but if it is a Winnebago there were several years that needed more air intake space. Try it with the compartment door and the heater cover open. I had this problem and it would work fine with the door open so I drilled several holes in the inside cover and it works fine now. There are several ways to accomplish the additional air intake area. Search and you will find suggestions.

The fuse or some say it's a diode needs to be connected and not open. Check it with a meter and put it back if it's good and try again. If it's open, I have heard that Radio Shack sells them.

Our coach is a 2008 Itasca Sunrise 32H. It does have the extra venting. Thanks for your response.
