I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2006 ALLEGRO BAY ON W22 CHASIS. IT HAS 2 WORK A HOLIC SIX VOLT BATTERIES STORE IT IN ENCLOSED BUILDING, CONNECTED TO 50 AMPS. THE BATTERIES HAVE STARTED BOILING OVER AND MAKING A MESS ON THE FLOOR. IS THE PROBLEM CAUSED BY LEAVING IT PLUGGED IN OR IS IT A PROBLEM WITH THE BATTERIES? I AM THINKING ABOUT GEL CELL OR OPTIMA YELLOW TOP BATTERIES. ANY THOUGHTS???

Do you have a multistage converter charger? Mine was doing the same thing until I installed a charge wizard on my progrssive 9160 converter. It was charging at a constant 13.6vdc. Now with the charge wizard it starts at over 14volts and tapers off to about 13.2 after several hours. This reconditions the batt and reduces boiling. You still have to check the fluid level

You can go to the IOTA web site and get a SMART CONTROLLER for your DLS 55 also. Around $39.00...it Plugs into an RJ 45 on the DLS 55 converter and does the same thing. My batteries were doing the same thing until I installed the SMART CONTROLER.

if after fixing your overcharging problem you find that your batteries are toast, consider LIFELINE agm batteries. they are more tolerant of fast charging and over charging than gel batteries. you may be able to install larger batteries in the same space by mounting them on their sides as i did. i got my lifelines online from bd batteries about a year ago and am well satisfied with them.
