A related thread Hinge broke on Norcold referin the Winnebago Industries Owner's Forum seems to be applicable to all using Norcold refrigerators.

As I posted there:
We are on our third door, each lasted about 6 months. They replaced them without question and did not require the broken one to be returned this time as they did with the first two, (warehouse probably getting full of doors with broken hinges) all no at no cost and they paid the labor.

I repaired the last one with the "As Seen On TV" stuff comes in two parts that you kneed together. No telling how long it will last so I'm keeping the latest door set aside till needed.

Just wondering if referring to it here we might get some input from those who don’t normally read Winnebago section and an idea of how big the problem is.

Our door broke October 2008 in Cottonwood AZ. The local Repair service said ours was the third Norcold door they'd seen in the last two months so they were quickly up to speed getting us a new one. Don't know about the other doors with the busted lower hinge, but ours has the very heavy wood panel inset. That, with the weight of the food and supplies, adds up to a lot of stress on the plastic hinge support on the door itself. We used a mixture of JB Weld (good stuff!) and round wooden toothpicks to beef up the hinge. We then hit the local dept store and got some Goth-Black fingernail polish to paint it up with. We full-time in our Trek so our Fridge gets daily use. A year and a half later we're still in business and the door looks strong. Of course we have limited the weight we store in the door shelves and, if we do have to put large items in, we keep those close in to the door hinge side to lessen the leverage. So far so good!
