Have "new" 2006 Gulfstream G7 home for a bit over week since purchase and we are beginning to hear a bumping noise through front vents below AC. Of course, it was not heard while running all day at dealership going through walk-thru and taking care of purchase wrap-up. Noise is not constant but close. Any ideas if this could be sign of compressor going out or anything serious. About to leave on trip and getting back to dealership is not in plans at all. I know my info is limited but just thought someone might have had same bumping noise in AC vents. When vent is in direct dump, noise is not near as noticable but I believe this is due to the straight dump noise cancelling out what can be heard. any ideas?

Glad I have service warranty in case AC is about to go out.

Drop the ceiling assembly and check for loose divider that separates the discharge and return air. Check for any loose foil tape, loose upper unit, duct work, etc. If the compressor were dropping in and out, I would think the time delay would hold it off for the three to five minute time lapse.
