Hello all...we have refurbished our interior but still have the original window shades. Does anyone know of a way to clean them? Mostly just years of dust and dirt but a couple of mystery spots on one of them complements of the previous owner. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Remove the blinds, place them open on towels and clean with a Bissell Little Green Machine, close blinds and let dry, reinstall, open blinds spray with spray starch, close blinds and let dry.

I just cleaned two of ours that were taken down from the passenger side,, which of course was where the leak was and left some dark brown spots on them.
I took them down, put them in the bathtub, opened up the night portion first and sprayed with 'Shout' , spread the day portion and repeated, left them for about 10 minutes, went back in and used the hand sprayer and rinsed them really good.. stood them on end to drain somewhat, then took them out under the carport and hung them over a couple of chairs to finish drying. sprayed them with 'magic sizing' ,,,didn't have any spray starch... then laid them on the table while still a little damp and folded the pleats one at a time until all the way to the bottom, I pulled the strings up from the top to help tighten the fold, put rubber bands on each end to hold them tightly closed until dry...
they look as good as new...

I cleaned all the blinds in our MH with a power washer!! I removed them all from the coach, fabricated a frame to hold them open then soaked them with 409 for a few minutes then power washed them. They came out looking great!

Are you talking the fabric day/night shades or metal/vinyl window blinds? I would be afraid even my cheap electric power washer would rip my day/night shades to pieces.

Fabric Day/Night shades. The previous owners were smokers so the MH had to be cleaned from the front to the back. The Day/Night shades were 8 years old and a nice yellow/brown Since the alternative to cleaning was to replace I decided to give it a try and it worked great! I did keep the nozzle about 12-18" from the frabric. I used a 3500 PSI washer. It took me a couple of weeks to clean the MH but there is no trace or smell of smoke in the MH now and we saved a ton of money!
