Can I add a washer/dryer?

If I have a used motorhome in which a washer/dryer was an option, but was not added, can I now go in and add the washer/dryer? Will the plumbing likely already be in place? Or would it be easy to add the plumbing? Thanks.

Probably. Many are set up with the necessary connections and then offer the option of installing the washer/dryer. That said I would expect to check on it as a condition of purchase. If you are buying used former owners can change things. If new they can tell you when you are looking. Just ask if the plumbing is there so you can decide later.

Some RVs are built with washer/dryer prep as standard or as an option. If the prep hasn't been done at the factory, it may be difficult to add as you will need a drain line to the gray tank as well as hot and cold water. The dryer will likely pull 10-13 amps, so you will also need a 15A, 120V electrical line with nothing else on the circuit.

We bought a 2006 Itasca and it had all the plumbing in place. It was no problem to install washer/dryer.

If it was pre-plumbed and wired...NO PROBLEM.

If it was pre-plumbed but NOT wired...MINOR PROBLEM.

Otherwise...PROBLEM.

BTW...wiring one up in a coach with less than 50A would probably be a problem.
