Does anyone know if they are building a Carrier RV AC again? One of ours went bad and where we got a replacement they told me someone else was going to start making them in Janurary 2011.

No. Carrier has left the RV market.

I know Carrier has left the RV market, but I was told that they were going to be made with a new company. The company probably in China.

If the units are made in China, I doubt if they will be as good as the original Carrier units.

Well, I see you have the bad news. Now the good news.
Parts can still be found, in fact so long as Carrier is in business they have to support the product for a specified period of time (I think 4 years but can not be sure) and then there is the fact that most parts are not unique so you can get a generic replacement part.
Good news page 2:
the Carrier unit fits in a hole in the roof that is 14" square.. So does every other rooftop RV-Air conditioner made, EVERY ONE.

When we went west last June our main unit went out in Tenn. It had a run time of about 9 days. I had no help from Carrier until I called Carriage and they got someone to help me from Carrier. We got the until replace in Little Rock, AK. There is where I was told someone else was going to build a similar unit that would hook up to the wiring we now have. I have talked with several service tech about these units. Some love them and some hate them. When we got our new Carriage Jan. 2010 the service tech in Fl. at the park did not like them. The guy who worked on it in Tenn. liked the way they were built as did the guys in Ak.
