Kids thought it was a piggy bank and put coins in the slot. Not kidding; I've heard of this several times.

I agree it sounds like a CD is stuck in the CD.. One of the problems with slot feed CD players is warned about by Roxio when you use the label printer function.. If you use a peal and stick label on a standard CD-R or RW then the disc is thicker and if you put it in a slot feed, such as a dash cd player. it will not come out.

If you use "print on" cid's (Which come from teh factory with a paper "top" on a slightly thinner, otherwise, disc) they work fine. But you need a printer such as a Canon Pixima IP-4300 with optional CD Tray and a slight modification (NO TOOLS NEEDED) to make it work. (more on that if you need it, Since I do)

IF the unit has a removable face plate press the "EJECT" button a few times, then remove the face plate.. Now carefully look through the slot, the slot is a lot "Wider" (Meaning up and down) then it looks, youcan use a common popscicle stick to "lifT and "Depress" the rubber or brush. If you see a CD stuck in ther eyou can use needle nose pilars or duck bill pliars (very thing ones) to reach in and tug it out. Then restore the face plate and press EJECT again. then try feeding it.

DO NOT USE Stick on label CD's in the player.

NOTE on the IP-4300 printer: The units sold in the US do not do CD's
The units sold in England, or France, or Germany or.. Most other countries can do CD's

The printers are IDENTICAL in every aspect (Save for a block off plate on the cd tray slot, easily removed) only a software setting (Configuration setting) is different. The modification to the printer is "hold this button till this happens, then press buttons in the following pattern, then hold this button till something happens" and that's it.

If someone needs I can point you to the site that sells the tray, and gives the instructions.

Do in-dash CDs have that manual eject hole that you stick a paper clip in?

I've had a problem with one particular disk. It's a British commercially-made one with a very high-gloss label. It gets about 60% of the way in and then stops loading. It turned out that the feed roller that moves the disc into the player can't grip that slippery surface.

In the end, I copied it on my computer and just used a marker pen to identify the copy.

The slot/front loading CD & DVD drives have never been the best idea. Much more prone to issues & going wrong.

That's why its better to have the auto CD players with a head unit (in dash unit) and the CDs in a separate box that take the CDs loaded into a cassette (CD changer ) .

Or for PC better to have the drives with the draw that slides in & out, plus the slot front loading drives don't have the paperclip *eject* hole as far as I know.

Not that I have ever seen.. And even taking it apart I've not found an easy way to do a manual eject.. At least not on a pioneer.

Mine is now ejecting regular CD's most of the time, Peal and stick I avoid.

When I use a "printable" Cd I put "Auto Compatable" on the label so I know it will work.

I represent ASA Electronics, the producer of the JENSEN brand of televisions, stereos, and speakers, Voyager brand of observation monitors and cameras and the Advent brand of appliances. At ASA, we strive to provide excellent customer service and product satisfaction and would like to offer some assistance in this matter.

What model is the stereo? Have you tried the reset button? Is this the first time a CD has been loaded in the unit? If so, I suspect that the shipping screw (found on most models) was not removed at the factory prior to installation. If this screw is still installed, it will prevent the disc from fully loading.

If you need help determining model and/or screw location, it would be best to call us or visit your dealer. You can reach us on our toll free technical support line at (877) 845-8750. We are available M-F 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM EDT.

We look forward to hearing from you.

JENSENRVDirect,

Thank you for stepping in and trying to help. I just want to acknowledge that fact and I'll bet the OP does also.

Again, thanks. It is very nice when a company steps up and tries to help someone.
