Ceiling/roof insulation question

Here is a question for you rv industry guys. When tearing out my ceiling insulation, I noticed channels cut into the foam for wiring. What kind of tool do they use to cut those channels? I can't identify with any tool I'm familiar with from the jagged cut marks.

Tiffin uses CNC routers to cut channels in their foam wall and ceiling panels. The cuts from a router are usually nice and straight, but may have a little "fuzz" on them. Router cuts may also have remnants of white dust.

Foam can also be cut with hot wire cutters. These cuts may be somewhat more irregular than what I have seen from a router. The hot wire will leave a harder, somewhat glossy "crust" in spots. There will be no white dust.
