Changing generators

have a 1996 rexair 3250xl class a rv
replace generator with onan 4500 commercial bgdfb30502m going to wire it in it has 4 wires(green,red,black,white) My rv has 5 wires(green red,black and 2 whites. I have a 4 prong plug, how do I wire it.
Would like to use remote, going to buy 338-3514 is a 5 pin and my rv has a 4 pin.
Any answers would be appreciated.

It sounds to me like the "commercial" model is a true 120/240v unit, just like your power at home. Your RV most likely had a generator that only put out 120V, but it did it "in phase". That is to say that if you read the voltage across your main breakers with the generator connected, you would read 0volts between the two legs and 120v to ground. The two neutral (white) wires are necessary to carry the full load of the "in phase" power.

The Onan QD7500/8000 models produce that same "in phase" power. I don't know why the Onan does it that way, but it probably has something to do with using an inverter to produce the actual output on those models.

Go to smokestack.com, scroll down to the onan forum and post question. Give the complete model and serial number. Someone will help and probably get you a wiring diagram.
