We have a 92 Winnebago Adventurer with an Onan Marquis 6500lpg generator that is not producing power though it runs fine. I have checked the breakers on the unit and checked the connection where the braided wires from the unit connects to the coach Romex and I have 1 vac at both places. I think I need to check the transfer switch to see if it is putting a load on the voltage regulator but I am unsure of how to go about this.

Thanks for help,
Greg

Welcome to IRV2.

If you only have 1 volt coming from the Generator there is no need to check the transfer switch. The breakers that you checked are these the ones on the generator? You should have 115volts AC at the junction box even if the transfer switch is not working.

Onan says that this is not necessarily true. Some of their models will not produce 120 vac without a load. The transfer switch checking idea came from Onan. They also said that some of their models will not run for over 30 seconds if they are not producing power due to the genset or the voltage regulator but some will.

I have not been able to speak with their tech support again and give them the model number in order to further narrow down the possible problem. I was going to try and work on it this weekend if I could figure out how to test it.

BTW, I checked the breakers on both sides and there is only 1 vac/
Thanks,
Greg
