Well today I was de winterizing and was sanitizing the fresh water tank. Turned on the pump to run some of the sanitized water through the system aand water started gushing out the city water hook up. Huh I must've screwed up the check valve when winterizing. So I took the three screws holding the city water hook up on the side of the camper off. Pulled the hook up away from the camper and unscrewed the hose that attaches to it off. Some parts fell out in my hand so I removed the filter screen on the hook up and more parts fell out. Apparently when I pushed the check valve to make sure antifreeze go in their the valve couldn't handle the pressure and came apart. Anyway alls I had to do was put the O ring back on and reassemble the check valve and reinstall the city water hook up and its good to go. Took ten minutes to fix. Sorry for rambling just thought someone might find it useful.

The exact thing has happened to my TT. I was a bit hesitant to do the repairs myself, but since you explained the procedure to due your repairs, I feel now that I will be comfortable doing my own repairs. Thanks for the info.

Go for it. If you can turn a screwdriver you can fix it.

You don't need to put RV anti freeze in the water system to winterize it. Just use LOW pressure air to blow the system out and then pour some antifreeze down the drain traps and in the black water tank to winterize the down pipes. This way you only use about 1 gallon of antifreeze and don't have to waste all that time of flushing out your potty water system

I have rebuilt mine now twice. Very easy fix. As for winterizing, I have tried the air method, and it does not do a good job of getting all the water out. I have replaced an outside shower and a kitchen faucet using the air method for winterizing. In the North East it gets pretty cold. Any little bit of water can cause a problem.

Good to know it is so easy to fix. I screwed mine up when winterizing this past year. I have a replacement on order just in case.
To prevent unseating it again, I do plan to blow out my lines with air, but will still pump in the pink stuff. At least blowing with air will clear the water from the city connection..
Regards,
Bryan
