Cleaning air ducts

New to RV'ing. Is it possible to clean the heating/cooling ducts?

The only thing I know to do is push in a vacuum hose as far as you can get it and suck out as much dirt as possible. I haven't ever seen ducts that got too dirty. John H...

In most vents I have found dirt will collect at bottom of grate opening. As was said a vacuum hose will clean out. You could also use a plastic 1 1/4" hose taped to end of vac hose to go through the length of duct.

about every 4 months we pull the covers and run a long vac hose to the other register hole. with two pups the odd ball hair gets trapped midway

Because of a boner I pulled cleaning the AC/Heat Pumps on the roof a few weeks ago, I had water dripping out of the ceiling vents/ duct work. I ended up threading cord thru from vent to vent and then tying work towels to the cord and working this setup back and forth to dry the duct. It also really cleaned the ducts out. My wife was really surprised how much dirt came out. Also when the heat came on later the air was a lot 'fresher'. Did both the hot air and cold air ducts. Of course the cold air ducts were dirtier. Even with the foam filters. The furnace ducts in the floor probably could be cleaned the same. But, just like all the others, I just run the shop vac hose thru ours.
