Cleaning Fridge burner and orifice

Anyone have step by step instructions with pictures? I found a couple on YouTube but didn't show taking out and cleaning. Our new Amish cooling unit works great on electric but not propane. Going to try cleaning and hope that fixes, if not then will put in mew burner. Hoping this will take care and let it cool on LP.
Any help would be very appreciated. May try working on it tomorrow.
Thanks

Hi folks! I had the same problem after installing the new Amish unit. Following David Force's instructions, I just removed the gas tube and the burner, disassembled the burner, soaked it in alcohol for two hours, blew it out with high-pressure air, and BINGO! That sucker roars now and cools the same on LP as on AC. Sorry, don't have any pics, but it's really simple.

BTW, I had a blue flame before, but David told me I should be hearing a fairly loud "roar", which I wasn't. Believe me, after doing the cleaning I knew what he was talking about!

I can't believe this. I am having the same problem. I put a new cooling unit in my norcold and after I did it won't cool on gas but works great on AC power. I believe you are correct because I have a blue flame and it does not make noise at the burner. What is hard to understand is it worked good but not great on gas with the old cooling unit. Well tomorrow I will be cleaning the burner. Thanks for the info.

What makes it even more ridiculous is that I took the MH to a licensed RV tech who looked at the flame and said it was fine!

On the orifice cleaning, if you go to a welding supply shop, they will have orifice cleaners in various sizes. The small pack of variable sizes resemble a large book of matches in size, only made of metal. They are about $5. The last thing to do is try to force some object like a pin or needle in the orifice. You will find them a great add to your toolbox. Great for cleaning out windshield sprayer nozzles, bar-B-que burners, furnaces, stoves, etc.

Great advice! I'll add those to my arsenal!

Update

Finally got time to clean the burner on fridge. Lots of yuck came out while soaking! Just did get it all put back together and it does sound like the roar of flame is louder. Going to let it cool till tomorrow and check it! Fingers crossed it's cooling good and good to go! Will update later tomorrow or Mon.

Did you perchance take pics? Our fridge is working fine, but I want to do this maintenance. I'm very handy (hubby not so much), but usually need pics to show me what to do.

Easiest way to clean a orifice is by rubbing the tip along the pant leg of your jeans and blow thru the orifice. Had used this method for 15 yrs. working on furnaces. Had as in currently retired.

How is that gonna get any crud out of the inside of the orifice? If it's loose, sure, but I would think that it's not always loose.

Here is what RV shop in Erie PA did ti fix my LP refrigerator:

1.) Disassembled the burner and removed the orifice.
2.) Cleaned and blew out the orifice with brake cleaner.
3.) Reassembled the burner.

BONUS for using a spray can of brake cleaner: ...no compressor required!

WARNING!
DO NOT insert ANY object into the orifice opening.....(NO orifice cleaning wire, NO paperclip, NO needle, pin or toothpick).

Because those orifices are made of brass or aluminum, the opening could easily be distorted.
If the opening is distorted, the gas flow rate will be affected, and you will need to find a new orifice.
