Can any one explain to me about how the heat pump goes to furnace when the temp gets to 30 degrees. I have a 2008 Monaco Cayman and I call both Monaco and Dometic and neither could give me an answer. My manual says that when in heat pump mode I should go to furnace when the temp is at 30 degrees but it does not go to furnace unless I manually put it!!!!! any help!!!!

I suspect the switching occurs when the "called for" temperature and actual room temperature difference exceeds a set amount. On my system it's 4 degrees. Example: Room temperature is 65 degrees and you want 70 degrees, if you switch on Elect. Heat (Heat Pump) the system defaults to propane heat as the difference is more than 4 degrees.

Hope this helps.
