Compact Freezers

We're looking for a compact freezer that will fit in a bay in our class A MH. It would have to be front loading and no higher than 23". We're considering this one

I would appreciate the opinion of anyone that has done this.

We have had the Sudpentown 3.3 cu ft version for several full timing years and it has worked quite well.

We had a smaller top loaded one (1.2 cu ft?) imported by Norcold that was much more expensive that worked fine. We got it from my sister in law.It was many years old when we got it and after a few years it began making a "I am going to die noises" so we replaced it. My wife wanted a larger front loader so we got the 3.3 cu ft one.

I made a base with wheels for it and it sits beside the dinette when we are stopped and it is wheeled back to the bedroom and strapped to a couple of eye bolts on the bed while underway.

We can run for 5 or 6 hours with it unpluuged and the temp will only come up 3 or 4 degrees. Since we keep it at about 0 degrees that is not a problem.

I have 2 of the same type. Different names but same manufacturer. Have one in the basement for 8 years and use it approx. 4-6 months per year. It runs good on my Xantrex modified inverter. Will hold temps overnight. When needing 2 freezers I put the other one under the dinnete. Check price on Wal Mart online catalog. They ship to store free. Might be more cost effective.

Nice that you posted this as it has been on my to-do list this year
after a lot of research I had just not order one but I ordered this same unit
and plan to install it in an outside bay.
