I would like to thank all the people who answered my post about my Megnetek converter dying. I read all the information you sent me and I decided to go with a Progressive PD4655- 55AMP. I went up 10 Amps from my old converter. And let me tell you do not even know that this converter is running. I went through Best Converter, owed by a wonderful man named Randy. With his emails, his pictures of installing and him calling me this was a piece of cake putting in. If you feel you can do the work and what to save money by doing work yourself on your RV. Please call randy at Best Converter. YOU will not be disappointed.

Most of us recommend Randy at Best Converter.. Glad you found him.

Myself I have never had cause to deal with him but everyone I've heard from (you included now) who has has nothing but good to say about him.

I think you will be very happy with that PD564

I checked the PD site, did not find a 4655, did find a 4555,

If that unit comes with the charge wizard built in (And I'm fairly sure it does) then you are really going to be happy with it.. My coach came with a slightly different system, the power panels and converter are 3 seperate items (All PD) the converter is a 9180 with wizard... I add water to my bateries once a year... I can go a bit over a year if I wish, safely.. Plugged in most all the time save for 2 weeks in Jan and going down the road.. and I water 'em once a year.. Check more often but water once a year.

ratcity, glad to here that you are back in the charging business. You have a good system for the battery bank. Enjoy!
