Has any one adapted the Sharp R-1820 convection/microwave with built in range hood and light to a 12VDC light? I bought some surplus parts that should allow me to mount LEDs in the fixture. The light doesn't work while boondockin, and isn't very bright under any circumstance.

Are you saying the LED's don't work while boondocking? I believe leds need ballast/dropping resistors to work properly. More info please.

You may have the wrong resistor in the light lead. It's 14 volt on shore power and 12 boondocking, if the resistor is too large the LED's will be dim.

I'm not familure with the range hood but the Microwave/convection ofen should love a good 2,KW true sine wave inverter. And that will have enough left over power for whatever you need to light or blow (Fan)

The hood light is two 120VAC 40 watt appliance bulbs. I want to add two LED lights to use with out inverter, generator or shore power. The existing light isn't very bright and my wife would like more light when she uses the range burner cover for more counter space. I was hoping someone had figured out how to wire it. I plan on tying it into the over sink light switch. Will probably use high temperature appliance wire. May just tie into the existing 120VAC wiring to the two appliance bulbs and tie it into the 12VDC power from over the sink.
