Cow Ear Tags to save AC, Refrigerator

When we tried to run our AC after parking the RV for a few months it would not run. Service man said he found a lot of mud dauber nests in it, sufficient to prevent the fan from starting. His recommendation? Get some insecticide cow ear tags and ziptie them in the area of the AC. Also put one in the water heater, refrigerator and gas furnace. Should work for all bugs, including spiders. They cost about $30 for 20 at the feed store and last 4-5 months. Makes sense to me and I will let you know how well they work.

Having grown up on a dairy farm I know a bit about cows but never came across that item (likely newer than the last 4 decades) I can say this.. If they are what I think they are.. They WILL work.

Suggestion. Wear gloves (latex or non-latex surgical or exam gloves or Playtex Kitchen gloves such as you might wear when connecting/using/disconnecting that famous 3" hose)

Wash hands well after handling.

I've used that chemical.. By the gallon (Yes it comes in liquid form too) and I can tell you the phrase "Dropping like flies" You have never seen the true meaning of that till you trigger a Vapona (TM) Sprayer.

I haven't had a problem with my A/C yet. I do buy the white dog flea collars each 6 months. I cut them in half. I put a half in the exterior section of the refrig, water heater, furnace and in the basement. It seems to work.
