Cracked Shower Skylight

Is there a good fix until/if I can find a replacement? I'm considering fiberglass cloth.

I would focus on the replacement. If you can't find one, maybe post with a picture and make/year/model info for some help? You may find this much simpler than you think!

Cover it with clear silicone till you get a new one. Is it just a single crack?

It's a single 3" crack going down to the roof surface. It's on an 08 Beaver Contessa.

I have the same problem on our 2000 Adventurer. I put some clear awning repair tape on it till I can find a dome. This stuff is real sticky. All the domes I've found are smaller than mine so if you find one post the source please.

Being retired means you can put off till tomorrow what you could have done today

I know you're looking for a temporary fix but when you get to the permanent fix you might want to check these folks out.

Rough up the surface then you can use one of these:
Silicone caulk
J B Weld
Epoxy cement
Multi Caulk or 3M 5200 available at WEst Marine Stores

Just be aware that frequently the cracks you don't see are problematic too. UV damage deteriorates the plastics. Replacement is the only good option.

I just replaced 2 and am working on a 3rd one now.

Ours is an old 92 Eagle and Fleetwood had the 2 domes, a tad smaller but that was fine, gave me new material to attach to. The 3rd is an acrylic dome and that's what I'm working on today. I have fastened it and the flanges were fluted upward when it arrived. I've been reading that I can apply heat and mold it around the edges, so going to try that today with dynamat behind to protect the roof, and a heat gun, but really watching the temp, I believe they had it custom made.

If you look around on the net you can find places that make them, and unless its some unusual type like my bathroom one, they aren't that expensive. Try ebay and many times they have parts for older motorhomes and TT's. Items that are new and from RV shops, I've found anything and everything so you might try that.

If the crack runs down to the roof I would be careful could leak in that, maybe put eternabond on the crack and then dicor at the roof area for now.

Mine were old old, deteriorated and in starting to just remove the screws and caulk to remove them broke a piece out of the top. See pics of what I started with and after before the dicor caulk. I doubt yours are this bad.

They really aren't hard to get off, use a heat gun, that made the process a lot less painless and clean the area good, it will be like new!

I owned a Safari Trek model 33-30 and there were not many of that model made. The shower skylight was an oddball size. I couldn't find one online in that size so I removed it, put two or three layers of fiber glass over the entire skylight, sanded it and painted it. I could have had a new skylight made but didn't like the price so did my own repair.
